DIZZY DAVIS is the side-project and alter-ego of Radiana Basso from LEOPARDO. In case you’re somehow unfamiliar, allow me to assist you with that. Based in Switzerland, LEOPARDO has released multiple records on different labels, most notably on Feel-It Records, and are a modern garage/psych powerhouse. DIZZY DAVIS seems to share a lot of the players from LEOPARDO as backing band members and I have seen that they did a Euro tour together coinciding with the release of this cassette and the most recent LEOPARDO LP, both on Swiss based Chrüsimüsi Records. Any number of buzzwords could get thrown onto this and it would be accurate. Alternative, bedroom pop, garage, shoegaze. But any of them alone isn’t really all that accurate. Whip it all together and you’ll see that this is just unbelievably catchy pop music, think THE VASELINES but somehow more hypnotically catchy. I am absolutely hooked on this cassette and have listened to it countless times at this point. Having to wait for whatever the next release will be is sure to be no Swiss picnic.
