Chicago / Northwest Indiana area supergroup featuring members of NANCY, LIQUIDS, and BLEEDING GUMS. Supergroups sometimes stumble under the weight of their own hype, fans expect fireworks but all they get is smoke. Not here, tho. This is absolute goddamn perfection. Catchy rock-n-roll riffs mixed together with no-nonsense, no cheat-beat punk. Hell, the first ten seconds of the opening track alone touches all those bases instantly, letting you know exactly what you’re in for. I’m not really sure what in the world could make this cassette any better, unless of course there were more of them. I have listened to this tape so many times and it just doesn’t get old. Five original tracks plus a cover of “2 of Hearts” which is a blast. The catchiness of NANCY with the driving, unexpected hooks of LIQUIDS, all wrapped in some sort of glam-rock veneer. Truly every aspect of this release is spot on. Recorded by Erik Nervous and mastered by the one and only Geza X, you know, in case the band’s lineup wasn’t already enough to get you excited. Holy hell. That team could probably turn a bucket of nails into gold. I would travel to great distances if this project were to ever play live.
